Mitchells acquires Allied Grain Systems

Expanding its global agricultural solutions portfolio

The Mitchells Group, which includes MHEA Corporate Member Guttridge Ltd, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Allied Grain Systems (“AGS”), a renowned Australian-based supplier of grain handling and storage solutions.

This strategic move strengthens Mitchell’s position in the bulk handling and storage sector, and expands its capabilities to better serve farmers and agribusinesses in all key international markets. In particular, the addition to the Mitchells portfolio of AGS, known for its expertise in designing and installing high-quality grain handling and storage facilities, aligns with Mitchell’s mission to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art solutions to the agricultural sector. The integration of AGS’ offerings will enhance MHA’s product and services portfolio, enabling the group to deliver more holistic and efficient solutions to its customers.

Mic Mittasch, Mitchells’ CEO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Allied Grain Systems into the Mitchells family. This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our growth strategy, allowing us to offer a more complete suite of products and services to our customers globally. Allied Grain Systems has a stellar reputation for quality and innovation, and we are excited to leverage their expertise to better serve the agricultural sector.”

The combination of Mitchell’s extensive bulk material conveying equipment and AGS’s specialised grain handling and storage solutions will provide customers with a one-stop-shop for all their agricultural handling and storage needs. This synergy is expected to drive operational efficiencies, improve customer service, and foster innovation in product development.

John White, founder of AGS, said: “We are looking forward to joining forces with Mitchells and contributing to their vision of advancing agricultural productivity. Our combined resources and expertise will create new opportunities for growth and innovation, ultimately benefiting our customers and the broader agricultural community.”

The acquisition is effective 1 July 2024, and both companies are committed to maintaining uninterrupted service and support for their customers throughout the integration process. AGS will continue to operate under its well-established brand, from its existing locations and with its existing management team remaining in place. Customers can expect a seamless transition and the same excellence in customer service, quality and reliability that they have come to associate with AGS.
