The Materials Handling Engineers’ Association (MHEA) annual Excellence Awards are well and truly open, with five different categories of award available. The annual Excellence Awards coincide with the MHEA’s 80th Anniversary Dinner, and both take place during the flagship conference and exhibition, BULKEX, in October this year.
The five award categories are: Innovation; Project of the Year; Apprentice of the Year; Supplier of the Year; and a new category to support the Year of Engineering, Engineer of the Year. The closing date is Tuesday 31 July 2018.
Entries require 200 words explaining, with evidence, the reason for the application, and a further 100 words giving the reason why entrants think they should win. Entry is free and should be submitted via the form on the MHEA website.
The after-dinner speaker is comedian John Stiles, son of Manchester United and England great, Nobby Stiles MBE. John is a former professional footballer who played for Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers, before injury cut short his playing career.
John Connolly, President of the MHEA, said: “In our 80th year, we’re already excited about the standard of entries that we have received. We’d encourage all our members to have a go and enter these awards, as they are an excellent benchmark of the calibre of the bulk materials handling industry. This year, we have an excellent after-dinner speaker, in John Stiles, who will bring his own personalised witty take on life to the evening. Our 80th Anniversary Dinner and Excellence Awards will certainly be a night to remember.”
The BULKEX18 Conference and Exhibition will take place between 17th and 18th October 2018 at the Eastwood Hall Hotel, Nottinghamshire, and is a must-attend event for anyone involved in the bulk materials handling industry or affected by it.
