Fairport Engineering Ltd was commissioned by a major food manufacturer to design a small water treatment plant to enhance the quality and supply of potable water to one of their processing plants. The treatment plant consisted of an inlet surge tank, filtration plant, backwashing facilities, conditioned water buffer tank and high lift distribution pumps. The Materials Handling Engineers Association has appointed a new president, John Connolly, who will hold the post for the next two years. John, who has been Vice President for two years and a member of the MHEA’s Executive Committee for several years, took up the role at the AGM in October.
